As we all navigate this challenging time, we want to be here for you as a safe and reliable source of information and dental care. Dr. Sue has been studying what reliable experts know about COVID-19 and we’d like to share some information with you from the CDC website https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html
We do this every day in our dental office- universal precautions.
Universal precautions mean we assume everyone has some type of infection, COVID-19 or anything. Therefore, we make sure all treatment rooms are disinfected before and after every patient to keep our patients and our staff safe.
In other words- the universal precautions we have been using for the last 25 years are the same precautions the CDC is recommending for prevention of COVID-19.
But- since this is unprecedented times, we are stepping it up. All door handles, light switches, kids activity room toys, remotes, bathrooms, and arm rests are being disinfected on an hourly basis. We have disposable coffee cups and no one will wait in the waiting room- you will be seated in your operatory immediately to reduce contact with other patients. This link https://www.mouthhealthy.org/en/az-topics/i/infection-control takes you to the American Dental Association website where it talks about infection control in the dental office and what’s new with the COVID-19 virus.
If you are not sick or caring for a sick individual, please know you are able to come for your dental appointment at Marcotte Dental- we are taking every precaution to protect you from any unnecessary exposure to all infectious diseases.
If you have symptoms of a respiratory infection (fever, sore throat, coughing and/or sneezing) and an upcoming dental appointment- please call us to postpone your appointment (248)426-0011
If you are infected with COVID-19 and emergency dental treatment is necessary, please call Dr. Sue directly (248)909-4453.
As always, we encourage you to keep your bodies as healthy and resilient as possible to avoid contracting the virus and/or minimize effects if you are exposed. Keep in mind – disease is not just about the microbes, but how your individual body reacts to them. We encourage you to: get quality sleep, properly hydrate, eat whole foods, get outside, exercise, avoid smoking, remain connected to family and support networks, and reduce your stress level as much as possible.
Please know you can always reach out to Dr. Sue directly.
